Hans Kaufmann has served as President of the Board of Directors since the original founding of Kaufmann Research AG. He also consults on several other boards, particularly within the pension fund sector. In 2007, Hans Kaufmann was elected for the third time to the National Council (Swiss parliament). Until 1999 he was employed as financial analyst, head of the Department of Swiss Company Research, and finally as Director and Chief Economist at Bank Julius Baer & Co. Ltd, responsible for investement strategies in Switzerland. In addition to his work in this area, Hans Kaufmann has had extensive experience with a variety of brokers, such as Goldmann Sachs, Salomon Brothers, and Kidder, Peabody & Co. in New York. He began working with Bank Julius Baer & Co. Ltd. in 1980, after having served as a financial analyst with Zurich Cantonal Bank (Zürcher Kantonalbank) since 1974. Hans Kaufmann began his career in 1973 as a gold mining analyst in Johannesburg. He holds a master’s degree in economics from the University of Zurich (lic.oec.publ.).
Benjamin Kaufmann joined the Board of Directors of Kaufmann Research AG in 2007. He offers tailor-made financial solutions for private clients. Between 2004 and 2010 he was a student at the University of Fribourg, the Curtis L. Carlson School of Management in Minneapolis, the Zurich University of Applied Sciences in Winterthur as well as the School of Economics in Warsaw concentrating on the fields of management and international finance. Prior to his studies, Benjamin Kaufmann was a trainee in the tax center for private clients at Zurich Cantonal Bank (Zürcher Kantonalbank), as well as at Swissfirst Bank Ltd. in Swiss Equity Research and Portfolio Management. In 2003 he finished his apprenticeship at DZ Privatbank (Switzerland) Ltd. He holds a master’s degree in European Business from the University of Fribourg (M.A.).
